General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
hello.Welcome.reports suggest it to be a case of Diabetic Nephropathy which is a microvascular complication of longterm uncontrolled diabetes. His 24 hour urine estimation is to done and see whether patient is having microalbuminaria or overt proteinuria.More than 300 mg albumin per day is labelled as overt proteinuria and once this develops the time taken to develop end stage renal failure on an average is 5 years. The patient must be constantly monitored by a nephrologist.Good luck.
