Uncontrollable Heart Beat, Pressure In Chest, Dizziness And Strange Sensation In Head. What Should Be Done?
I'm 21 and male. My heart sometimes beats uncontrolably for a few minutes and I feel a strange pressure in my chest. During this time I feel a little dizzy and once the beating becomes regular I feel a strange sensation in my head. Like a rush of blood.
What do I need to do? I'm too young for heart problems right?
See an Internist / get yourself examined / at times, basic investigation may be necessary... Your heart beats need to be DOCUMENTED by ElectroCardioGram (EKG). Standard ECG records the electrical activity of the heart, for a few seconds. It can detect the arrhythmia occurring during that time only. If the episode occurs randomly or precipitated by a specific activity like exercise, one needs Holter or event monitor. Age does not exclude! At this age, congenital diseases and conduction problems are likely to be causing the problem
