Under Treatment For BPH-grade-III With Good Prognosis. What Should The Further Treatment Plan Be?

Dear Sir,
I am on DutasT capsules, containing Dutasteride0.5 mg and Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) for 23 months now, daily one at night after I was diaognised for BPH-grade-III. Before 9 months, the doctor after taking rectum test told that it had come down to Grade-1 then. Kindly answer me:
1.When I have to go again for the abdomen scan?
2.Is it safe to continue Dutas T and if so for how lomg?
3.I am now 61.Will an operation put an end to my BPH?
4.When I should again go for a PSA test? Even when BPH was at grade-3 that PSA was within limits. Is it absolutely essential now?
Thank you, in anticipation,
With warm regards,
S.Vaithianathan, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
If I would be your Doctor then I would certainly keep you on medical treatment and not advise for surgery, many of my patients having same complain and they are doing well with medical treatment alone, once the diagnosis is clear and medicine giving good result and it is asymptomatic then no need to go for any further test or repeat test unless it shows some symptoms, you will have to take the medicine for longer period of time, have nice day.
