Upper Respiratory Infection, Coughing, Spots And Pricky Sensation On Skin. BP Problem?
I am recovering slowly from an upper respiratory infection and am still coughing, at times quite hard. About three times a day I have an attack of coughing so severe that I see spots and have an unpleasant prickly sensation on my skin . (upper body) I live out of town and it is a hassle to get in to see my doctor. Should I go? The prickles make me wonder if I am spiking my blood pressure . What do you think?
I would like to know, if you have taken any treatment for upper respiratory infection or not?
Whether it was antibiotic or just anti histaminics?
If it was antibiotic , whether you completed the course or not?
Still considering you have taken treatment and completed the course, I would like to advice you to follow few things helping to relieve cough.
1]. Steam inhalation 3-4 times a day.
2]. Salt water gargling, again 3-4 times a day.
3]. You need to take cough syrup containing anti histaminic like Corex/Benadryl syrup[If cough is dry].
If you have wet cough i.e with expectoration , if fever is present and is severe, you need to consult physician as that indicates lower respiratory tract infection.
Take care.
Best regards,
Dr. Neelam.
