Urgency To Pee, Foul Smell, Occasionally Blood In Urine. History Of UTI. Taken SMT Symptoms Disappeared. Tests For Herpes Negative. Suggestions?

Hi, I'm a 45 yr old female who has had 5 UTI's in the past 2 years. The last one was cultured and came back neg for bacteria. I was given SMT for 3 days and my symptoms disappeared for 1 week, but now are back. Urgency to pee, foul smell to urine, and I occasionally see blood in my urine (sm amt). I have been more sexually active since this started and thought it was the cause. No pain in abdomen or lower back. No fever, vomit, nausea. I did have a possible outbreak of what they thought was Herpes 2, but a blood test came back neg. I've been with the same man for almost 2 yrs and we are both faithful to each other. Any suggestions? I don't have any health insurance and have been going to local planned parenthood.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Recurrent urinary tract infection with blood is very serious thing.
As you mentioned that within two years five times you infected with this infection.
May be due to urinary tract calculus ( in pathway of urine).
May be due to renal ( kidney involvement ) as foul smelling urine with frequent urination .
In my opinion get in blood for serum creatinine, blood urea, and urine culture .
Consult an Urologist and get his opinion.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
