Hi Jessica,
You have OCD- the Obcessive Compusive Disorder beyond doubt, I must admire the way you have narrated your problem, That's itself suggestive of OCD- Because OCD is the disease of perfectionists and that finer detail can be gathered and described by a perfectionist only.
Actually OCD is a psychiatric disorder- a Neurosis or you can say a mild disorder of thoughts.
Sufferer undergoes considerable morbidity because he has got a Thought which continuously haunts him may interfere with the rest/sleep and patient has intact Insight i.e. knows that his pursuit is not justifiable but still has inner Compulsion to do the Ritual that is the particular activity that gives him satisfaction.
In your case Thought is To get a clean food and with clean fork, Ritual is to ensure a clean fork is used and this cycle continues.
Other common OCDs are- Washers, Checkers etc.
Psychiatrists use Behavioral therapies to deal with it, supported by antidepressants and outcome are fantastic.
Wish you a good health.
