Using Benicar HCT, Weak In Arms And Legs. Reason?

Hello, I started on Benicar HCT 10 days ago. This is the third med the doctor has prescribed so far. I feel better than I did on the first two, but everyday about 3 to 4 hours after I take my meds. I become very weak in my arms and legs. I have to sit or lay down for at least an hour until I get my strength back. Can this medicine be the cause?

Hello sir,
Benicar Hct is a combination of olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide which are both antihypertensive drugs. Hydrochlorothiazide is diuretic which increases urine output. It can sometimes cause low potassium and low sodium which may present with your symptoms. Kindly get your electrolytes checked and stop the drug after consultation with your physician.
Hope i was of help.
