Using Candid B Ointment Permanently. Itching And Rashes On The Face Upon Stopping It. What To Do?

hi, I have been using 'Candid B' ointment for five years the reason is when i stop using it within three days i ll get some itching kind of feel and my face's skin goes dark and i could see some rashes on my skin. I am a student and i cant go ugly to my college so i continued my usage. Now i can not stop using it, even i stop it for one day it causes severe effects on my face. It makes me feel that I am addicted to it and i can not even go out for one day tour as I have to apply it on my face. I feel down that I have lost my natural skin. For the past one week i completely stopped using it but my skin has gone ugly, dark, full of acne, rashes on my chest, black patches on my neck and leisions all over the area i have applied. What can i do now? I am completely broken and I locked myself in a room.

Hi,
Welcome & thanks for posting your query to Healthcare Magic.
After reading your query it seems you are having Steroid dependence. Candid B cream contains Clotrimazole and Beclomethasone dipropionate in it. The former is antifungal and the latter is a steroid.
Steroids on long term usage are very well known for there side effects locally as well systemically. It can cause atrophy of skin, hair growth and dependence in long term in form of eruptions, itching and redness if trying to stop, so makes a dependency known as Steroid dependence.
It is best to meet a proper dermatologist (M.D. Skin/ Dermatology) with long term follow up with the same person. The dermatologist will slowly take you off from the dependence by using certain medications and you would be totally alright in few months. You can find one on our forum nearest you or can choose the best in your city.
Hope this information may help you. With best wishes for your skin,
Dr Sanjay K Kanodia
