Vaginal Discharge, Itching For 8 Months. Taking Medication, No Improvement. History Of UTI Infections. Advice?

Hi, I am married from 2 months , aged 30 yrs female and experiencing vaginal disharge (sometimes grey and white), itching due to which burning and now it has increased so much that I am unable to sleep. This is happening from 8 months or more but sometimes low or high. I consulted doc and she advised me to take aldactone and diane 35 as i had previously reported of uterus cyst in ultrasound. I then got relieved for the time being. I again consulted the doctor as the itching has increased over the time and is giving me sleepless nights. I was advice to take 3 nites but I am unsure if that will help. Also, suddenly I am urinating more and have to rush to the bathroom to make sure it doesnt ruin my clothes . I already had UTI infections in past about 3-4 years ago. Please advice if i can take instant medicine for UTI and not antibiotics everytime. Also, what possible reasons is it that I am getting the vaginal infection again and again, Can i use flagyl? I am not pregnant as of now but want to make sure I am all okay when i bear a child. Please advice asap.

Hello,

Above clinical features are associated with vaginal yeast infection in co-existence of urinary tract infection. To confirm, you need to undergo one vaginal swab test and routine urine examination with culture.

You need to take proper antibiotic medication, along with anti fungal vaginal suppository (like 3-nite etc), urine alkalizer etc. Your partner also to be treated.

Drink plenty of water and take cranberry juice. Maintain genital hygiene before and after sex. Avoid chemical contacts inside vagina. Control body wt and avoid mental stress.

Good luck.
