OBGYN 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
This means that your vagina contains infection with group B streptococcus.
This is one kind of bacterial infection.
This predisposes you to preterm labour, and also puts the neonate at risk of infection from the womb itself.
WOmen who screen positive for group B streptococcus have to receive antibiotic cover during labour.
This is more important if your membranes stay ruptured for a long time.
Please consult your OB GYN with these results.
The requisite precautions during labour and delivery will be taken.
Do not worry, as long as preventive steps are taken, this is not serious.
All the best.
