Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

You have taken Venlafaxine 150 mg per day and then doctor advised you to take Nexito Plus (Escitalopram and Clonazepam) after about 5 years for depression. Venlafaxine is a SNRI drug and the drug helps to increase serotonin and noradrenaline transmission in brain (deficient transmission is responsible for depressive symptoms). Escitalopram is a SSRI drug and the drug increases serotonin transmission in brain by direct mechanism and noradrenaline by indirect mechanism. Both are good anti-depressants and have almost same efficacy. Considering your drugs it appears you have unipolar depression but detailed evaluation is needed to make proper diagnosis. Visit your psychiatrist and discuss about your diagnosis.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
