Vomiting Bile, Burning Sensation Under Breast Bone, Heart Burn. Advise?

Good Day,

My mother has been vomiting Bile since last night and today and it's accompanied by a burning sensation/ hunger pain feeling underneath her breast bone. She has been feeling this burning sensation/ hunger pain feeling for the last six months and as a result of this when she has heart burn, it is a lot more intense than before.

What could be the cause of this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Vomiting of bile and burning sensation suggests an obstruction beyond the level of opening of the common bile duct into the intestine.
The burning sensation is probably due to acid reflux into the esophagus.
Is there vomiting out of food also?
If yes this problem needs an urgent referral o a surgeon.
An ultrasound abdomen is required.
The cause of obstruction needs to be found out.
The obstruction could be due to a mass either inside the intestinal lumen or outside.
Inorder to relieve the obstruction enterostomy (opening of intestine to exterior) may be required.
Surgery if required can be performed at later date.

So, consult your surgeon.

Thanks and take care
