Vomiting Several Times, On Birth Control Pills, Not Pregnant. Smoke Marijuana Daily. Reason For Vomiting?

I am 19 female. I vomit 3 or more times a week. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking I have to poop then I end up vomiting several times. I am on birth control and had my period 2 weeks ago so I am not pregnant. I am pretty stressed but I feel I cope with it well. I smoke marijuana daily but I don't think it is making me throw up. This has been happening for about 2-3 months but it used to be less often. I usually vomit what I ate last or yellow acid stuff. Please help me!

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

The possible causes for a patient presenting with persistent nausea and/or vomiting are many and varied, but in the main may be considered under five main headings:

- Pregnancy (which you happened to have ruled out by the fact that you menstruated 2 weeks ago)
- Visceral disease e.g ulcers, gallbladder disorder, dyspepsia, IBS etc
- Metabolic or toxic
- Central nervous system disease
- Psychiatric illness

Now looking at the above likely causes, you will need to see a primary care physician to do a complete physical and laboratory assessment so as to determine in which diseases category to place you, so he can refer you to a specialist.

Hope this helps
