Wart On Leg, Red And Burning Sensation. Applying Alcohol Of No Help. Should Be Concerned?

HI. I have a wart-like growth on my leg. It is about the size of a pencil eraser. It is raised and is red around the outer skin and red in the center from picking at it. I sometimes pick at it because it becomes uncomfortable and I try to cure it with alcohol, but to no avail. It often has a burning sensation. It started as a spot a few years ago but now is significantly raised. Should I be concerned?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic
Wart is a viral infection. It can spread through contact and by picking on it it can spread to your fingers and if you get it under the nail it is a difficult site to treat.
Wart is vascular so it will bleed if you pick on them.
You won't be able to cure it with alcohol. Simple procedure called electrosurgery can be used to burn the wart. Please consult a dermatologist for the same.
Hope this helped
Take care
