Warts On Shoulder, Red Bumps, Mildly Itchy And With Brown Liquid. On Antibiotics. Is It An Infection?
My daughter started with two whitish looking warts on her shoulder. She scratched them and suddenly they spread to a patch, then a raised red bumpy area, that became cracked and sealed brownish liquid. Small raised bumps spread over her whole body, including her face. They were mildly itchy. The doctor took a culture of the wound and found an aggressive staph. She put her on anti-biotics for 10 days. Her wound mostly healed and he bumps went down significantly. Now a week off the antibiotics, the bumps seem to be getting slightly worse. The wound has not healed completely and two new warts have developed. She also has a black pin-prick looking spot on her thigh. I m afraid that their is a virus on top of the infection. Do you have any idea what this might be? The antibiotics really tore up her stomach, and I m afraid they will put her back on them.

Warts On Shoulder, Red Bumps, Mildly Itchy And With Brown Liquid. On Antibiotics. Is It An Infection?
Hello, Thanks for the query. She might have developed staph infection as mentioned by the doctor. These are deep bacterial infections. Treatment is with antibiotics and there was a response also. However the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests. Ask your doctor to do a sensitivity test. Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
