Was Exposed To Sun For A Long Time. The Original Redness Has Turned Purple. Recommendations

Hello, this question has probably been asked multiple times, but a few days ago, I was outside for a while in prime time sun exposure. It was the first really nice day in a while, and I didn't realize how long I would be out, so I got sun burn on my arms and thighs. However, I didn't realize how severe the sun burn actually was until I got inside. I wasn't too worried because I usually get burnt after being in the sun for a while, but today I noticed that the original redness has turned purple. Now I'm starting to worry because that has never happened to me before. Is it normal for sunburn to turn purple? I thought that I may have broken some blood vessels or something, but then again I wasn't sure if that was possible from being out in the sun for too long. Any thoughts?

Hi thanks for writing here. You have got severe photodermatitis. It is an allergic reaction to sun.Purple pigmentation is common in these cases.Later on it may look like tanned skin. There is nothing like broken blood vessles and you do not need to be worry much.Use a sunscreen. You can apply a steroid cream at night.Take care.
