Weird Heart Rate, Should We Go To The ER ?

My 16 year old cousin is spending the weekend with my husband and I while her parents are out of country. She was complaining of feeling unwell, headachy,dizzy and light headed, and way too hot. I took her temperature and she has a slight fever (99.8 F), and then she complained that her heart was beating weird. Her resting heart rate (she had been sitting on the sofa for three hours an this point, and her heart was beating at 94 bpm,and i no particular consistent way (as opposed to mine which beats very rhythmically and consistently). I am going to take her to the walk in clinic tomorrow morning, but I was jut wondering, everything is closed right now, do you think I should take her to the children s hospital ER? or am I completely over reacting? and now it has nearly double that at 168 bpm, I am worried. he says she can feel her heart beating in arms and back

ok, what you need to do is make a big bowl of water. i mean big. put ice in it and let it sit awhile. then, have her dunk her head in the water for about 10 seconds. i will be very cold but do it. do it a few times, then dry off. the cold water sends a shock to the body starting kind of like a reset to the system. kinda like a computer. this SHOULD help with the heart rate. if it goes down and comes back up, definatly go to the doctor. that heart rate is not normal. she might have eaten something shes allergic to, something that was bad, or maybe even has an infection. ok? hope this helps you.
