Whan Do Stitches Dissolve After Child Birth?

It has been 5so weeks since giving birth and dissolvable stitches still haven t dissolved. We moved 2 weeks a go so I do not have a 6 week post partum appt. Is it normal for them to be there this long? also got my first period today so wondering if I can use tampons? Only had one stitchafter a smalland tear

Hello

Stitches will resolve slowly. If you have any pain or discharge from that need to consult doctor. Better not to use tampons, as wound healing will take 6 weeks to form a strong tissue.
