What Abnormality Could Be There On An Abdominal X-ray If Having Severe Pain?
Hi. I went for an abdominal x-ray today (I'm in the UK if that makes a difference to the question). From the radiologist's reaction there was something wrong with my x-ray - but he advised standard procedure is to send the report to my GP (will take 5-10 days) and would not confirm whether I was OK or not. Immediately before I had an ultrasound on my kidneys (slight scarring to my right kidney) and bladder - all fine. I am very worried now - what could be the worst thing found (for the record I had a severe pain which lasted for about 2 hours and have had that intermittantly over the past few years but very infrequently). Thanks
1.The possible causes that could be seen in the abdomen x-ray are. 2.Acute intestinal obstruction - in which bowel loops will be seen dilated with air and fluid levels - for which your report can not be delayed so lone it needs emergency treatment. 3.Pneumoperitoneun - in case of air in the abdomen - also emergency no doc will just sent to GP. 4.And renal calculus ( kidney stones ) for which if they are non obstructive no action required. 5.Scaring of right kidney might be after a treated infection. 6.Trust in the doctor no one will harm you, if its emergency they will treat, if conservative thing it can be sent to GP - Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
