Hi
HIV is an infection that is present in blood lifelong if you are infected. If you have been at risk of exposure, then you need to be tested. The window period/incubation time is 6 weeks to 6 months. So if you have been tested during this period after exposure, you need to be re tested.Signs and symptoms appear much later so cannot rely on that.
