What Are Abdominal Pain, Bloating, Gas And Diarrhea Suggestive Of?

Hey Doc, I appreciate it. Symptoms: Bms all over the map when they used to be normal, abdominal pain on right side, bloating, gas, loose stool & diareah. I had an umbilical hernia about 10 years ago. I just saw a GI Specialist and he say adhesions and to schedule lap. surgery but I didn t like how fast he came up with that and feel kind of funny having that done unless they are sure.

Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of irritable bowl syndrome and I don't think you need surgery unless any abnormalities are found on colonoscopy or abdominal CT.
