What Are Causes And Remedy For Red Sores On Vagina?

I have a scratch just to the side of my vagina. Its really sore but it just looks like a red line.It gets sore on some days and then gets better. When washing and wiping it really stings. How can i get rid of it ? It`s been there for a few months and i don't know how it got there?
