What Are Chances Of Cancer In Liver With Biopsy 'suspicious For Cancer'?

52 year old male. Have a lump in my liver. Biopsy came back "suspicious for cancer". What in the world does that mean? Had a PET scan today waiting a week to see the doctor. How likely is this to be cancer? I have not had a liver function test in about 3 months and thosse were mostly normal.

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

There are more chances to be cancer than not, but it should be confirmed with repeated biopsy and then therapy may be planned.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
