What Are Chances Of Survival Of People In Vegetative State?

i have question regarding vegetative state ,that (1) what kind of researches are going on for such patients ,and what are there outcomes ?
(2) that medical science will have re-write its history ,because we dont have much information to deal with brain ? all we depend upon is on hope .
