What Are Dry Cough And Shortness Of Breath Indicative Of?

Iv e been having shortness of breath & a dry cough. My Dr. said my lungs sound ok & they did an EKG about a month ago ~ they said everything seemed normal. It s getting worse everyday ! I have some conjestion ~ more at night. So I use the breath right strips. Two years ago I had a brain tumor removed.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough and shortness of breath which is due to lung infection leading to bronchitis. it could be due to underlying systemic disease which is making you prone for infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Avoid taking hot, spicy and fried food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and don't smoke and alcohol. Take expectorants. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest and Immunoglobulin G levels checked for further treatment. Take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief. Apply humidifiers in room.
