Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are Faint Positive Line In HPT And Brown Spotting Suggestive Of?
I am currently 3 weeks late for my period. I have a very regular 28 day cycle. I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms. I had 2 negative pregnancy tests last week but this morning I had gotten a faint positive. This afternoon however, I am experiencing some brown spotting. I also had similar brown spotting 4 days before my period was due in October. Could I be pregnant or miscarrying?
The faint line in HPT could indicate low hCG levels or its excretion in urine.
However, the appearance of spots is not a good sign after missing periods. Appearance of brown colour discharge indicates expulsion of old or retained blood.
Kindly take an ultrasound scan along with blood levels of beta-hCG levels and consult Obstetrician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
