What Are Itchy, Warm Welts On Arms And Legs Suggestive Of?

Yesterday afternoon I realized a few small bumps on the back of my forearm, throughout the night they began getting bigger and eventually covering my arms and legs. They formed large welt like areas that are extremely itchy and a bit warm. It is not contagious. At first I believed it was sun poisoning because I just returned from my beach vacation, but now I m starting to believe it could be hives. I m not sure what to do about this or how to cool the itchiness.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The symptoms you describe could be caused by
-allergy/Hives,
-skin irritation,
-an insect bite
-a local skin infection even though less likely.
I will suggest you take an anti-histamine like loratadine and observe. This drug will help control symptoms and stop itches. If the symptom persist, you see a Dermatologist for evaluation.
Hope my answer will help you
Regards
