What Are Lower Abdominal Pain And A Painful Lump On It Suggestive Of?

I have had abdominal pain; lower left abdomen. I feel a lump , painful to the touch. Yesterday, second day of pain was accompanied by a low grade fever 100.8, vomiting and soft bowel movements. Pain was excruciating. Took 2 Aleve and fever broke, pain improved. Today I am still having pain, not as severe. I have an appointment with my primary physician tomorrow morning...or would you advise to go to the ER?

This is probably diverticulitis and at this point I don't think you need the ER but your doctor will probably order a ct scan of your abdomen along with blood work.

It's effectively treated with a course of Cipro and Flagyl
