What Are My Chances Of Abortion At This Time?

Hi Dr. Chetna, I have been 5 weeks pregnant but wanted to abort the pregnancy, i took progesterone tablets (two) and one progesterone injection almost 48 hours back......now as the intake of progesterone is cutoff will I get my periods......and if yes, how many days do u suggest for me to wait. my 2nd query is till when can i easily go for a medical abortion? leme add here that em in a part of world where abortion is illegal although em doing it with my hubbys permission..i want to know what are my chances of abortion!thanks

Understand your concern
Progesterone tablet and injection does not cause abortion. It used for induced bleeding in non pregnancy case. You should use abortion pill after getting expert opinion from gynecologist.
You can do abortion up to 9 week of pregnancy by using medical abortion pill.
USG should be done before using pill to confirm intrauterine pregnancy.
By procedure. mifepristone is followed by misoprostol 4 tablet vaginally by gynecologist after 48 hour. Follow up at 7 days and at at 14th day again USG to confirm the complete process of abortion.
