What are my chances of having cancer.I just received my diagonose from my doctor who has stated that my sonographic images of the thyroid glad is at the upper limits of normal in size. Right lobe is measured at 4.7x1.7x1.9cm and the lef lobe is measured at 3.9x1.5x1.5 cm . The isthmus is measured at 0.33cm in AP diameter. The echotexture of the left lobe is fairly homogeneous without increased v ascularity, solid or cystic lesion. The right lobe also show normal vascularity and demonstrates 2 complex nodules. Nodule 1 upper pole 6x4x4mm predominantly cystic demonstrates a solid component in its dependent portion without calcification. It has a smooth contour. Nodule 2 straddles the mid to lower pole measuring 16x10x13mm contains septation with solid and cystic components shows paerpheral vascularity but none centrally and demonstrates a single calcification. The isthmus is unremarkable. The trachea does not show any compression. The visualized central compartment shows no lymphadenopathy.
