What Are Persistent Cough, Pain In Throat And Center Of Chest Suggestive Of?

I m trying to decide if I should go see my regular doctor tomorrow or if I need to head to an urgent care tonight. I have been coughing for about a week now (tomorrow will be the 8th day). My nose hasn t really been runny, but my throat has been hurting like mucus has been running down it. And today the center of my chest has started hurting every time I cough.

Hi welcome to health care magic...

You have cough since week and stinging throat sensation

Now you developed chest pain two reason might be there....
-Muscular strain pain by excess coughing
-Bronchitis like acute infection

Your work up needed with....
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray if needed
-CBC
-Throat swab or ASO Titre

If bacterial infection present than suitable antibiotic course given

Take vitamin C lozenges three to four per day

More water drinking done to breakdown mucus

Avoid excess spicy foods

If needed ambroxol syrup can be given

Take care

Advise : Pulmonologist consultation preferable for examination and further work up
