What Are Recurring Lightheadedness And Shallow Breathing Suggestive Of?

I have frequent light headed episodes, along with shallow breath. They started 1 to 2 years ago, infrequently, and lasted a few seconds. Of late, they are much more frequent and lasting up to hours. They don t seem to have any connection with my activity or inactivity at the time. Any ideas? I am a male, age 72, with no known heart problems other than a murmur that is untreated. Thanks very much, Dwight L. Mills

hello,
The lightheadedness is cakled syncope in Medical terminology..It may be because of old age and low blood pressure..as when you suddenly wake up from lying down or sudden change in posture leads to transient late in blood supply of brain..which causes Breathlessness n lightheaded feeling..
*You should change posture gradually..e.g. from lying down posture to sitting posture..just turn left side and den after few seconds wake up..
*Avoid over exertion..
*Take warm water..
*Take more liquids like coconut water, butter milk, milk, lemon juice, fruit juices.
*+Do walking half an hour morning and evening.
*Have enough rest.
*Be stressfree..
