What Are Severe Pain In Hip And Shoulder Joints Suggestive Of?

My mother, age 79, has always been healthy and active. Overnight she acquired severe joint pain, mainly in her hips, and shoulder. Since that time (three weeks), the pain and inflamation has spread from her hands to her feet. She cannot pull herself out of bed or a chair and has slid to the floor, not being able to get up several times. She has had blood work, X rays, CT scan, MIR, and seen two different doctors. She has been tested for Lyme Disease and we are waiting for results on a Lupus test. If you can suggest another direction for us to explore, we would appreciate your advice. Thank you

Hello

Thank you for posting at HCM
you said it's spreading, how is her cardiac workup? Get a 2D Echo, with ECG, go for rheumatic way.

If she is not allergic, in our OPD we usually start with Paracetamol 250mg 1-0-1 x 5 days, Tab Orthocox 90mg 1-0-0 x 5 days, Tab Glucosamine sulphate 500 1-0-1 x 10 days, Tab Volkmox CV 1-0-1 x 3 days , she should not be positive for Lyme's as it has been 3 wks and symptoms are increasing.

Hope to have helped

Thanks
