What Are Side Effects Of Ketoconazole And Tugain Foam?

Hi,
i was suffering from hair loss from quite long time, yesterday i went to dermatologist and he told me that you have hair thinning problem (Alopecia). He advice me to take Dutamax tablet for 3 month, Ketoconazole Lotion 2% and Tugain Foam 10 for lifelong.
Please advice Ketoconazole lotion and Tugain Foam(Cipla) is it safe to use or it has any sideffect.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Androgenic Alopaecia for which you are given Duramax tablet containing Dutesteride that act by suppressing Androgenic hormones..
It causes temporary loss of libido but it is completely reversible and side effects disappear once the medications is stopped..
Tugain contain Minoxidil and it helps in dilating blood vessels, improve bloofld flow and reduce hairfall.
Long term use can lead to very thick and dark hairs along with increased hair growth on face and neck too..
Although a long term use of Tugain can be advised like for an year or more but life time use is not appropriate that too in 10% concentration, therefore you should consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a proper examination can help in deciding the duration of treatment along with regular follow up..
You can also be advised Multivitamin and Biotin supplements..
Take ample of green leafy vegetables and fruits in diet.
Massage the scalp with warm coconut oil..
As far as Ketoconazole shampoo is concerned it is suitable to treat dandruff and fungal infection of scalp and can be continued as advised till the dandruff resolves..
