What Are Spreading Rashes Around The Rib Cage And Back Suggestive Of?

Hi, Thought I got bit by some kind of spider on my left side rib cage area. It looked like a bite and was red for a few days and my skin was prickley and sore to the touch. Now ir seems to have spread over to the front side of my left side and also lower on my back. I have had shingles before, and it almost feels like that, but there is no rash? Any ideas? I am on Metformin for type 2 diabetes and Lisinopril for high blood pressure 20/20

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are times that shingles may cause neurological signs with very minimal skin lesions. In your case, because you had some redness and you are having these sensations typical to shingles very likely you are having this infection flare-up.
It normally should fade within 1-2 weeks. If it lasts more than that or you are any worse you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
