What Are Suspicious Opacities In The Left Upper Lobe Suggestive Of?
Good day. I just want to ask if what is suspicious opacities in the left upper lobe? On my xray result, and then suggest apicolordotic view for further evaluation, heart is not enlarged hemidiaphragms and sinuses are intact. may i know if where this came from or what is the cause? What will i have to do? And may i ask if this can be treated? Thank you and God bless us.
Suspicious opacities in the left upper lobe means the radiologist is not able to differentiate whether the opacities are due to infections like tuberculosis, mass or tumors or overshadowed by ribs.
So he needs a special angled view of top portion of your lungs.
An apicolordotic view of the chest looks more focussed on the top portion of the chest so that a clear impression can be made about the suspicious opacities observed in the left lung apex. It is recommended when there is doubt in the routinely done chest x-ray PA view regarding any suspicious opacities in the upper lobes.
The request for additional imaging itself does not imply that you have a serious health complication, it just means that they need additional information.
If detected for example tuberculosis, can be treated successfully with antibiotics.
Hope this answers your query.
