What Are The Adverse Effects Of Navidoxine And Primperan During Pregnancy?

hi i am 9 weeks pregnant with severe morning, afternoon and evening sickness. My doctor prescribed navidoxine (at night) and primperan (during the day). I asked if this has any adverse effects on the baby; and the doctor said hmm.. So, my question is, what are the adverse effects for navidoxine and primperan.

Hi!
I appreciate your concern for the safety of prescribed medications for severe vomiting during early pregnancy.

As far as the pregnant mother is concerned:

Navodoxine (Meclizine+Pyridoxine) is known to cause the following side effects: dry mouth, drowsiness, constipation, increased heart beat, etc.

Primperan (Metoclopramide) is known to cause headache, confusion, anxiety or agitation. Serious adverse effects include irregular movements (dystonia, dyskinesia, etc), hormonal imbalance.

As far as the growing fetus (baby) is concerned both of the prescribed drugs are FDA pregnancy category B which are not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby

Both of the drugs are thus found to be safe & effective and hence prescribed for treatment of severe vomiting during pregnancy.

Hope I could answer your query.

A feed back is appreciated.
