Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The After Effects Of Skipping Two Contraceptive Pills?
I take birth control daily and missed two pills. My period started ten days early. I kept taking the rest of the pack throughout the period and now I ve finished the pack. I wanted to know if this means I ll get another period for the month or if that was my period for the month?
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, usually missing two doses may alter periods but doesn't cause significant fall in therapeutic levels to cause immediate waving off of contraception but in future better be avoided.
Hormonal imbalance caused by these pills may have caused menstrual abnormalities.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
