What Are The After Effects Of Stopping Topomax Medicine?

My name is Vickey Lewis. I am a 55 year old female. I have been taking Topomax, (150mg x twice daily), to prevent headaches. I used to suffer from daily headaches. The medication has worked well. I have been taking this medication for over 6 years.



My headachs seemed to have been associated with my monthly menstrual cycle. Now that I am post menopausal I want to stop putting this drug into my body. I spoke to my primary care physican and she instructed me to reduce the amount of the medication I am taking by 25mg. I now seem to be experiencing withdrawal symtoms.



Are withdrawal symtoms to be expected?

How long should I be experiencing these symtoms?

What is the best way for me to eleminate taking this medication?
