Hi my husband is complaining of mid thoracic pain mid spine. He describes it as pulsating and throbbing. He has no recent events that could have caused it is there anything other than muscle pain that it could be? His BP has been raised in past year 150/90 pulse regular at 76-80.

In my opinion you should undergo chest x ray first and rule out lung infection. Also go for ecg and 2D Echo to rule out cardiac pain. And yes 150/90 bp is high for any age. So consult cardiologist for this. If all are normal than we can think of GERD. it is acid reflux disease in which due to poor function of gastroesophageal sphincter acid of stomach tends to come back in esophagus and cause symptoms.
