Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. Headache of long duration is usually primary headache. It means it is not due to some lesion or trauma.
Your description of headache suggests that it could be any of below
: Atypical Migraine
: Tension headache
Both can present with similar features but pain in migraine is severe throbbing like, occurs in episodes while in tension headache, it is dull aching, gives band like sensation around forehead, may occur around eyes/neck/back of head.
You can correlate your features and suspect any of above. Further confirmation requires consultation. The doctor will advise investigation
: Visual examination
: Blood pressure check up to rule out hypertension
: CT or
MRI of brain to rule out possibility of lesion. It is unlikely in your case but still it is needed to clear any doubt.
: If still diagnostic uncertainty, blood investigation like
hemoglobin to rule out
anemia.
After confirmation, it can be treated. Meanwhile at home, you can follow few tips like
: Bed rest
: Maintain 8 hour sleep routine
: Avoid mental stress
:
Yoga or
meditation : You can take Tab
Paracetamol or
Diclofenac after proper prescription
: Head Massage
: Avoid bright light, noisy surrounding and any precipitating factor
: Consult family or friends if any problem.
Hope it will help you.
Thanks. Take care
