What Are The Causes That Would Lead To Increase In The Sugar Level In Body?
I had a blood test yesterday and my Doctor called me to let me know that my sugar level is 11. I do not understand this because I have lost 24 Lbs. and I eat very healthy, plenty of fruit and vegetables. I do not eat bread, very little rice and potatoes, These are the foods he told me eliminate in my diet because they are high in carbs. I do not eat cake, cookies or anything sweet, just plenty of fruit with yogurt. What do you suggest I do for this problem, do you think it could be another problem causing my sugar to elevate?
There are various factors causing sugar increase: - medications you take - the foods you've consumed the night prior to testing - morning hormones - stress
To determine the diagnosis of diabetes, further tests are necessary including: - oral glucose tolerance test - HbA1C test
Depending on the results, it will be determined whether you have diabetes or not. Keep on following the same lifestyle and diet changes as you are doing now! Dr.Albana
