What Are The Chances Of Contacting HIV Since Having Cough, Sore Throat After Sex With A Hooker?

i had sex with a fairly young black hooker in los angeles, she was 19 years old to be exact. i pulled out once i started to ejaculate i might have came in her a bit, then i realized the condom had broke. im having extreme anxiety that i might have contracted hiv. i came with a runny nose, cough, and sore throat 5 days after exposure, it went away in a week but i have a mild dry cough, it hasnt gone away so im worried i contracted the virus. the mild cough is very mild however, i cough maybe 4 times a day or sometimes not at all, but when i do i cough a lot almost as if i have respiratory problems. do you think i have the virus? what are the chances she might have had the virus? what are statistics of l.a prostitutes having hiv? please help i had sex with her 3 weeks ago by the way. i have no money to pay for this answer please help.

Welcome to HCM,
As you had a protected sex with a hooker and your condom broke during the act.Theoretically it is possible to get HIV infection, because HIV is transmitted by having sex vaginally, orally or anal.

HIV virus will be present in the genital secretions, so you may be at risk of contracting this infection.

I would suggest you to undergo CMIA (Chimiluminescent microparticle immunoassay) test, which detects P 24 antigen of HIV and antibodies against HIV 1/2. If the test comes negative you have to retest after the window period of 90 days.
