What Are The Chances Of Contracting HIV After Protected Anal Sex And Unprotected Oral Sex?
I am quite the worrier and this has been playing on my mind the last few weeks. I had protected (receptive) anal sex about 8/9 months ago and last had unprotected oral sex (giver) about 7 months ago. Anyway, I ve been ill the last week, flu-like symtpoms, mouth ulcers etc, general all round grogginess. I am feeling slightly better than I was a couple days ago and the overall feeling ill has been about 4 or 5 days. My question is, given my past sexual encounters, would HIV be a likely risk? I am in the process of taking a test soon but would like to have a less cynical opinion other than my own!
As long as the condom was intact during the contact (anal sex), you are safe and your risk towards HIV is almost nil.Oral sex carries a low risk. That too as a giver it is very much unlikely get infected with HIV. If you would have infected, you might have the symptoms as early as 4-6 weeks or after 5 years. In between any infected person remains totally symptom free. So your symptoms were not related to HIV and it is an ordinary throat infection which could have occurred to anybody. Nothing to worry.
