What Are The Chances Of Getting Cancer If My Father Has It?

My father just had an 8 inch cancerous tumor removed from his large intestine. What is the incidence of me getting cancer of the bowel as well? Should I have a colonoscopy done? I am 32 years old. I am perfectly healthy (just had a 5 week old son). The only medication I take is Tricyclin. I am 5'7" and weigh 188lbs.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
There are many type of familial polyp which is cancerous and inheritable. So if your father has colon cancer then you should go for colonoscopy once to rule out any chance of cancer. Consult your doctor and plan accordingly.
