What Are The Chances Of Getting Infected With HIV After Having Unprotected Sex With A Prostitute?

Hello doctors, 3 days ago, i had an unprotected vaginal sex with a prostitute for about 3 minutes. She had no fluid discharge, but i am afraid that she is hiv+ since i know nothing about her. What are the chances that i might be infected? Thanks in advance for your help !!

Hi, I went through your query. An unprotected sexual intercourse always has a chance of transmitting HIV even though it is quite low. It is lower in case of transmission from women to men. But the chance increases in presence of other STDs which the woman might have had. It is always advisable to have protected intercourse. As of now I would advise you to get ELISA HIV done 6 weeks after your unprotected intercourse. Hope this helps.
