What Are The Chances Of Getting Infection From Intercourse?

Hello Dr, i want to ask one question, before 8 months i had sex with a prostitute in one very poor and dirty hotel. I was drunk at that time so she put the condom in to my penis. I am uncircumcised by the way. We had sex for two minutes, and after that she removed the condom for me. I didn t know if the condom was expired or not, or she inserted the condom appropriately. Do i have a chance of getting the infection?

I have understood your query.

Condom, though gives protection against many sexually transmitted infections (STI), there are some infections which condom cannot give protection against. Particularly if there are infective lesions around the genital organs, open lesions in groin or on lips, condom cannot prevent them.

There are good many chances that you could have been infected by some STI in spite of use of condom.

Moreover, you were not fully in your senses due to the effect of alcohol as you have mentioned. So you do not know whether the condom was put on your penis by her properly. Hence you cannot rely on the condom protection fully.

Please report to a STI specialist, get thoroughly examined clinically along with some investigations to find out whether you have caught any STI. If so, please take complete treatment to get cured.

Please understand that most of the STIs if diagnosed and treated in time can be cured completely. Otherwise some of them can cause many complications including infertility or threatening the life too.

I hope you will take my advice rightly.

HI,
Welcome to HCM.

If the condom was an expired one or if not applied properly chances of it getting broken is more. Moreover the sex worker would know in detail about the expiry of the condoms and how to put it correctly. As you did not feel the broken condom, it means that you had the contact with an intact condom. So you need not worry and you were protected adequately. Chance of getting STD/HIV is unlikely.
