What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant While On Diane-35?

Dear Dr. Chawla. I have been on Diana 35 for the last 5 months and have been really good at taking my tablets everyday. A few days ago, my finance and I had intercourse (unprotected) and was wondering about the possibility of falling pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS in August last year, was on Provera for three months, followed by Diana 35.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Diane-35 is a hormonal preparation which suppresses ovulation and after its withdrawal many a times ovulation starts spontaneously, that is why, it is given in PCOD. If you are taking the pill regularly, ovulation being suppressed for the month, there was no chance of pregnancy. Please follow the advise given sincerely (as you are already) you would get pregnancy after the drug is stopped.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
