What Are The Chances Of Having A Normal Baby If Having Fetal Nuchal Translucency?p
28yr old female, g2,p1. fetal nuchal translucency 4.7mm, 11 4/7wk preg. no med hx, healthy. Would like to know percent/chance pregnancy will be normal baby Scheduled for CVS next week, will terminate now if best case scenario is poor outcome. spouse 30yr old, no genetic problems either family. first pregnancy normal with healthy child - now 19 months old.
Hi dear and thanks for your query. i understand your concern and I will try to help you .
Nuchal translucency 4.7 mm is very large because the normal limit of range for NT is 2,9 mm,but don't worry so much because an increased NT does not mean there is definitely a problem. Some babies without Down's have increased fluid, too. Hence be calm until you will do CVS, the only way to know for certain if your baby has Down’s or another chromosomal abnormality.
All the best
