Hello, and i hope i can help you today.
Many women will not menstruate while
breastfeeding as the hormone that makes your body produce milk also lowers
estrogen levels. So it is normal for women who are breastfeeding to not menstruate regularly. It can take even up to a year for monthly cycles to return on their own if you are breastfeeding, regardless if you are on birth control or not. However, you still can get pregnant even if you don't menstruate.
The Daphne pill contains only
progesterone, and it is designed to be taken every day with no break because progesterone-only contraceptives, while safe for breastfeeding mothers, are less effective than combination (both estrogen and progesterone) pills. This every day pill regimen will NOT give you a menstrual cycle because there is no pill-free week.
So as long as you take the pill every day (no break) you will likely not menstruate but you will be protected against
pregnancy. It is doubtful you
cold have conceived during the time you missed the pills if your husband used withdrawal and did not ejaculate inside you. But to be sure, i would perform a urine pregnancy test at least 2-3 weeks from the date of the last encounter with your husband. I would also restart the pills as soon as possible and continue to use withdrawal or some backup protection until you finish the new pack.
I hope this clarifies how to properly take this type of birth control pill and that i have answered your question adequately.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
